Makeup artist: Yana Gorcheva

The Face is a modelling-themed reality television series that follows three supermodel coaches as they compete with each other to find 'the face' of a major brand. The inaugural series premiered online on February 1, 2013, and officially premiered on television on February 12, 2013, on Oxygen. The format was created by Shine America and is distributed internationally by Shine Intl. The series is now an international franchise, owning its adaptations around the world. Naomi Campbell serves as a supermodel coach and also executive producer and chooses supermodel mentors for all the adaptations. The series are hosted by photographer Nigel Barker, supermodel coaches Naomi Campbell (executive producer), Anne Vyalitsyna, and Lydia Hearst. They compete to find the new face of a major national brand. Anne Vyalitsyna, or simply Anne V, has graced the cover of Vogue, the runways of Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Prada, and the pages of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

Fashion makeup may allow for the use of stronger highlights and shadings, and iridescent and vibrant colour choices, shimmer and shine. It is very important to cleanse, tone and moisturize the model's skin with the appropriate skin care products. Each makeup for the show was customized to the face and look desired.

Glowing or shimmering skin is often used for fashion makeup looks. You may not want an extreme shimmer but you can use a highlighter or luminizer to highlight certain areas, such as the cheekbones.

*Professional tip: I prefer liquid foundation. It looks more natural on the skin and it is a good choice for outdoor, sporty and beach looks. I used lighter amounts of powder. Too much powder will take away from the natural translucency and glow of the skin. The eyeliner was applied with a combination of eyeshadow and pencil to draw attention to the eyes. Glitter has a fashionable appeal but it is best reserved for nightwear, such as parties, nightclubs and special occasions.
